Alley 6 Nocino Walnut Liqueur is back in Batch No. 2! Nocino is a traditional Italian liqueur made from green, unripe walnuts.
In the spirit of tradition, on June 24th - St. John’s Day - we harvest green walnuts from a local orchard in Alexander Valley, Sonoma County, CA. We steep them in high-proof grape-based distillate and let it rest for a few months to oxidize the walnuts, turning the liquid black. Once this maceration is complete, we remove the walnut remains, add winter baking spices, hibiscus flowers, and fig leaves, then lightly sweetened with brown sugar to create a bold and earthy spirit.
Traditionally, Nocino is used as a digestif, but it's great in cocktails too!
