Hiring Distillery Assistant - Production & Tasting Room 2/26/2024
**Position Overview:**
Alley 6 Craft Distillery is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our team as a Distillery Assistant focused on both production and the tasting room experience. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in all aspects of craft distillation, from assisting with the production process to engaging with customers in our tasting room. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about spirits, possesses strong attention to detail, and thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
**Responsibilities:**
- Assist with all aspects of the production process, including milling, mashing, fermenting, distilling, and bottling under the guidance of our Distiller.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the distillery, adhering to strict sanitation standards to ensure product quality and safety.
- Monitor equipment operation and assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting as needed.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with raw material handling and storage.
- Engage with visitors in our tasting room, providing exceptional customer service and sharing knowledge about our products and production methods.
- Conduct guided tastings and tours, educating guests about the history and craft of distillation while promoting our brand and products.
- Assist with special events, including festivals, tastings, and promotional activities both on-site and off-site.
**Qualifications:**
- Previous experience in a production and tasting room environment, preferably in a distillery, brewery, winery, cidery, or similar industry.
- Passion for craft spirits and a desire to learn about the distillation process.
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a friendly and approachable demeanor.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be at least 21 years of age and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
